Lolo Pass is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.050m (3,444ft). The road to the summit is called Lolo Pass Road (Forest Road 18). The approach from the southwest side is paved, but the road through the pass itself is gravel running down the northeast side
of the pass. Located within the Mt. Hood National Forest, the pass sits 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Mount Hood and 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Zigzag, Oregon. The divides the Sandy River watershed on the southwest from the Hood River watershed on the northeast. The road is not always easy to travel, and care is advised. Trailers are not recommended. To arrive to this pass, from Portland, drive Highway 26 east 30+ miles to Zigzag. Turn Left on Lolo Pass Road and drive 10.6 miles to Lolo Pass.
